It might be the lack of nicotine...
Or the feeling of being young hitting me...
But I want to do something crazy.
While surfing the world of blogs I stumbled upon the blog From the Aisle to Aloha.
While browsing through her blog I've decided. I want sell everything G and I own and move. To somewhere where the sun is always shining,

where I can take long walks on the beach,
and watch the sun set while waves crash against the shore.
Don't get me wrong. I love the town we live in. I love small town life. I love that we live near our friends and family. But I want to be crazy while we have a chance... before kids and real responsibility set in...
Do you ever feel like that? Do you ever get the feeling of wanting to be free and do something crazy? Or am I completely losing my mind?
We just got back from the beach and I TOTALLY understand! We wanted so bad just to just give up all responsibilities and never leave!
ReplyDeleteYou are not crazy! I feel like doing that all the time! The thought that I need to do everything fun before having kids is overwhelming sometimes. I guess that's what people call a Quarter Life Crisis!
ReplyDeletefeel like that all the time girl! :)
ReplyDeleteNope, not crazy at all...
ReplyDeleteDreamin' is great, only problem is...ya wake up after a short nap!!!
I'll let you in on a little secret though...
EVERYTHING has a price!!
I know a fellow who was in St. Lucia, Jamaica, and Cabo (twice) last year. He also rode a Harley all over the southeastern US last fall.
Is he rich? He'll tell ya heck no!!
Ask him if it was expensive, and he'll tell you "very." You see, he's been with an outfit that allows him the benifit of traveling anywhere that big jet has an open seat. Does it cost him? You bet it did!! He'll be the first to tell you that he missed lots when his kiddos were young. He worked holidays/nights/weekends for many years, so yea... it was very expensive.
Question is...what price are YOU willing to pay?
Dreaming, hoping, and wishing are all quite nice. Those alone will rarly get you where your longing to be...probably never. One must WORK towards ones goals to ensure those dreams become reality.
All choices have consequences, including not to choose.
Simple life in a small town has it's own rewards.
What are YOU willing to work for?
Quitting those nasty cigs will hopefully let you live long enough to harvest the fruits of your labor.
Just a lill sumptin' to consider...
I felt they way alot. I never felt that way when I had you and your brother "Tom", because you two gave me enough joy. The older I get the more I wish I could do that. I have less responsibilites and all I need to do is keep building on my nest egg. So I think it all depends on the stage of lif you are in at the time. The only advice I can give here is NEVER HAVE REGRETS.
ReplyDeleteDO it !! I feel that way all the time!!
ReplyDeleteIf you are going, now is the time! Find a good beach and I'll come visit!
