$5 Fall Wreath {From Pinterest to Life}

How about some "pinspiration"!?!

Mom and I both had this wreath pinned on our Pinterest Boards!

So we decided to re-create ours for fall.

We found these grapevine wreaths at Wal-Mart for around $3.

I picked up some fall foliage from Michael's for half off. (Around 50cents a stem)
We gathered our stems and wrapped them in twine.

Figured out our placement and hot glued them down.
Then we added some tulle and created a bow, leaving enough tulle at the end of the bow to wrap around the entire wreath.

Hung it up on the door and we're good to go!
For around $5 each we have a cute fall wreath!

I'll be linking up HERE!

P.S. I fixed the links on the right side so you should be able to snoop around now!
P.S.S. Who knows how to center your blog header?!?!

Junk Wreath

So who know what yesterday was????

The first!

Who knows what that means????

Sarah was supposed to do her first of the month project....

Did I receive it????? Nope!
{due to technical difficulties she's not a complete slacker}

So Sarah's "first of the month project" has officially become Sarah's
sometime-during-the-first-half-of-the-month-project

Hahaha love ya Sarah K!

So I've decided that the first is now going to be dedicated to a list. This list will have all of the projects I'm HOPING to get done that month. Hopefully this will keep me more organized and on track with what I want to get done.

My list for March:
  • Paint our kitchen counters (Yup painting them to look like granite!)
  • Make a shower curtain for our guest bathroom
  • Plant a garden
  • Finish Decorating the Porch
  • Paint our Front Door (Black or Red. Haven't decided yet...)

Okay I think that's a good start for March. Of course there will be other little projects thrown in but I'm hoping this will help me be more on track when it comes to the larger projects!

I did make a wreath to hang on my screen door welcome sign.

I found the grapevine wreath at Wal-Mart for like $3.

I added a bow and tied on an old licence plate! The hubs got mad when I took down the wall of licence plates so I decided I would display at least one of them for him!

The best part? I can take off the license plate to add other embellishments when the feeling comes! What do you think?

I did it!!!

I LOVE all of the coffee filter wreaths out there! My last attempt at making one FAILED! So last night I tried again! It was SUCCESS!!!! Instead of using a wreath form like I did last time I tried to make one I used CARDBOARD! Yes again! :-) I drew on a circle (traced a plate) and then I traced a bowl for the inner circle... Hot glued on a bunch of coffee filters and this is how it turned out!!

What do y'all think?!?! I love it!!!

On another note! I won't be posting tomorrow or Friday. I'll be out of town for a funeral so I need to spend this time with my loved ones... Plus I won't be posting EVERY day anymore! I will still post a few times a week but not E-V-E-R-Y day! It's expensive! Maybe if I quit doing this...

I would have more of this...

and wouldn't end up looking like this...

Maybe I'll work on quitting next year... It's HARD TO QUIT!  Please don't judge!

So anyways I hope everyone has  a wonderful weekend!! Go home and kiss your loved ones! Tell them how much they mean to you!!!

Cardboard Wreath!

Yup you read that right! CARDBOARD WREATH!

What you're gonna need:
  • A Large sturdy piece of cardboard (I used the box my new TV came in)
  • 54' of Wireless Garland  (I found mine at Dollar General for $2 per 18'! It worked great because it wasn't wired and therefore it was easy to wrap around my wreath)
  • Glue Gun
  • Ribbon
  • Sharpie
  • Exacto Knife
  • and Scissors

Cute puppy side-kick completely optional!

First Figure out how big you want your wreath to be (and what shape, I did a rectangle about 18"x22")
Then draw it on the cardboard.

Next CUT AWAY! I tried to use my Exacto knife and it wouldn't cut through this thick of cardboard... insert scissors! The first cut wasn't that pretty I just wanted to get the biggest part out of the way so that I could focus on cutting along the line!

Next draw the center to your wreath (I wanna say I used about 12"x14")

Then I stabbed cut a huge X in the center so that the cardboard would be easier to maneuver around while I cut out the center. I know it doesn't look pretty right now, but it only has to look pretty when complete right? :-)

After I cut out the center using both scissors AND the Exacto knife it looked like this

I then attached a ribbon to use as a hanger. Then I did what I like to call the wrap and tack! Wrap the garland around the cardboard  wreath (it's becoming a wreath now so I should refer to it as such!) and ever so often use a little glue to keep it in place, especially around the corners.

After you get all the way around you will have some excess. I cut off the extra and used it anywhere I still saw a bit of cardboard. When completed it looked like this!

I felt it needed a little extra so I made a bow and I knew just the place for my new wreath! Above my couch, right dab smack in the middle of the windows!

Excuse the paint that needs touch up... That IS on my list of things to do around the house! Overall I'm quite pleased with the results! I would love to see yall's take on it! Maybe add some berries or ornaments?!?!?!

What I've been doin' lately!

Two Post in One Day?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! LUCKY YOU!

Here are some things I've been up to the past couple weeks!

Took a wreath the dogs got a hold of...

Added flowers and ribbon! Ta-da!

Took a little blue chair...

and made it RED! (Can you tell I like red?)

I put these wall stickers up when we first moved in... The dogs saw fit to take them down...
I used the one I had left to make a stencil...
And painted them on! Take that down pooches!
Re-covered a $5 chair!
And turned this...
into this! I love the rosette!

In honor of Veterans Day there are a few I would like to thank!

Thank you to ALL of our service men and women... Past, present, and future! My God keep you all safe!

SOLDIER’S BLESSING
Father, he is a courageous warrior.
Our country depends on him for protection.
He prepares himself daily to defend us.
Please bless this soldier, your man.

His resolve is strong.
Weapons of war close at hand.
He is ready at a moments notice,
To defend and protect his land.

Lord, give this soldier your wisdom.
Breathe your Living Word into his spirit.
As he faces the enemy, may he have the faith of David,
While standing before Goliath: convinced of your rescue.

May this mighty man, take a solid stand.
May he know that you are by his side.
May he know that you are pleased.
May he know that you made him for this moment in time.

Father, protect him from all evil, as he valiantly fights.
And fight he will, whether at home or on the front line.
He joins all other fighting men, every one doing his duty.
Pulling together, with many skills, yet as one; guarding us from harm.

Lord, as he walks through all his days,
Bring to his mind those who pray for his safety, without ceasing.
Family and friends, who personally know and love him.
As well as those who only know he is their brother in Christ.

May Your Name be honored by this soldier, your loving son.
May he Worship you with a joyful heart and an exuberant spirit.
May he praise you before all men; unashamed, with confidence.
May he Glorify you; his salvation, his protection, his Father, his friend.
