Outside my window...

Do you see what I see?!?!

The carefully crafted masterpiece?

Built with love and care?

So that one day her babies can be born there...

Man I'm a poet! BOOM! Wasn't even trying! Haha But really isn't it cute?!?! Right outside my office window! I can't wait 'till they hatch. If my ornithology serves me correctly they are Song Sparrows...

Okay I GOOGLED the word for bird studier... and I googled the eggs too... but you though I was smart didn't ya?!

Country Living...

I've been feeling a bit romantic lately... Could you tell?
I've been enjoying time with my lover...
Sitting on our front porch, talking, sipping on sweet tea and day dreaming...

Sometimes it feels good to be a bit nostalgic... What do you think?

Driftwood

I got a funny story for ya...

In January of this year my Great grandmother would have turned 100.

She was a wonderful woman. I strive to be just like her. So kind hearted and laid back.

I love her and miss her dearly.

She was also a bit CooCoo...
{Haha CooCoo... okay that was a joke for family}

Not certifiable loony bin crazy but kinda on the quirky side.

She had GREEN lipstick that would turn pink once applied!
She was missing a toe and told me once that it just fell off one day.
She told me that ocean water and ice cream can cure everything.
{And in my childhood summers those two sure did a lot of healing}

She also would take long walks on the beach outside of our beach house.

And once upon a time she found a stick on one of those walks.

Not a beautiful piece of driftwood but a stick.

Cooter saw the beauty in it.
She loved that stick so much she hung it up.

When we lost Cooter all of us girls were fighting over that da*n stick.
We didn't want to share it. So only one of us got it...
{Lucky dog Aunt M... I will get the stick one day}

While I was browsing the blogosphere one day I stumbled upon a lovely little blog with beachy flair called

When all of a sudden, something caught my eye.

This lovely Driftwood necklace.

My wheels were spinning! All of us girls MUST HAVE ONE OF THOSE NECKLACES!!!!

And we are all lucky enough to have an awesome "sponsor" who was gracious enough to get each of us this beauty.
{cough*cough*Nana*cough*Thankyou*cough*cough*}

So on our trip to Shamrock
We girls all received our Simple Daisy Necklaces.
Some of us even cried when we got them...
{cough*Mom*cough*cough*Sarah*cough*}

And we all rocked them during the St. Patty's Day Parade!

Now we all have a piece of driftwood...

I want to say a special thank you to Heather from Simple Daisy for taking the time and making each of these necklaces! THANK YOU!
Simple Daisy also has some other amazing jewelry! Be sure to check her out!

And Heather also has a fun blog!
{That I stalk regularly ;-) }

Once again. Thank you Thank you Thank you to Heather! and THANK YOU to our AWESOME "Sponsor"!!!!!!!!!

Shamrock Texas {100 Years and still Rockin}

How was your weekend? I hope it was GREAT! This weekend we took a family vacation! We all traveled up to the Texas panhandle for Shamrock's 100th anniversary celebration!

Here's a little bit of history for ya!

Shamrock was founded in 1911 and my great great grandfather was the first ever poilce chief! Since it was their 100th year celebration and they were also honoring my great great grandfather we were given the opportunity to be the GRAND MARSHALL'S of the parade! Whoot whoot!

Here's some pics from this weekend!

After the Parade we walked around town. I had to take some pics of the historic Magnolia gas station.

Later that night we went to the concert and some of us got our boots scootin'! Ty Herndon was the featured band!

{Love our necklaces? But my Rosette necklace from Pink Lemonade and Sarah's from Simple Daisy}

The next morning we woke up and headed out. G and I decided to travel down Route 66 some!
{Yes Shamrock is on Historic Route 66!!!}

And then we took the long road home...

We had a WONERFUL time! If you are ever in the West Texas panhandle... stop on by and enjoy the town!
