Gallery Wall!

I've been needing to re-do my gallery wall. I love having old black and white photos of family up. My gallery wall used to just have pictures of family. It wasn't utilizing all of the space on this GINORMOUS wall. So I got to work on fixing that.

The mirror I found at the dollar store. It was originally gold, a couple of coats of spray paint and it's now a beautiful silver.

I found the "home" print on Pinterest and downloaded it from eighteen25.

This little print also came from Pinterest. I just printed it off and framed it. Love the saying. Reminds me of my great grandmother. {Read about her HERE}

So what do you think? Improvement? Best part? There's room to add more!

Burlap Wall Art!

Sooooooooooo remember the old coffee sack that I got when I went garage sale shopping?
Yeah... It's been sitting in a bag, patiently waiting for me to do something with it.

Well Buddy. Your time has come.

First up. He needs a good ironing.

{Don't have starch on hand? Use hairspray... Works the same!}

Found this frame at the dollar store for around $4. The color isn't too pretty but it doesn't matter... It's going to be covered up!

I laid the coffee sack on top on the frame, moving it around till I had it in just the right spot.

Then I lifted all 4 corners and put a dab of hot glue so that it would stay put while I flipped it over and glued it onto the back of the frame.

Flipped it over and started gluing. Then I cut off the excess.

Want to see the finished product?!?!? You'll have to come back tomorrow! It's going up on my gallery wall!
{Which I'm in the process of re-doing right now... Finishing it up tonight so that I can show you all tomorrow!}

If you "Like" 20Something on Facebook you can see my current gallery wall photo. Eh it's so-so... That's why it's getting a revamp! And here's some gallery wall inspiration for you!

The Big Reveal!!!!

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programing for:

THE
BIG
REVEAL!

So let's take ya back for a second...

NOT a very pretty before and after eh?
"Before" is before we ever moved in to our house...
"After" is about a month after we moved in to about a month ago... Not pretty...

So after the hubs cleaned out all that junk, we painted and put down new flooring...

We started bringing all my "craft crap" as the hubs likes to call it...

And we have........

Wait for it......

Are you ready??????????

BAM!

^ Not part of my "craft crap"^

If you follow 20Something on FACEBOOK you would know that a few days ago I got a trash can. And was REALLY excited about it! Why?!?!?! Because it's cute... and it holds all my not-so-cute-shipping-supplies!

If you're ever lucky enough to stop on by East Texas and get to come to Casa de 20Something... You will have to sign the STOP sign... all the cool kids do it...

You can read about my map HERE
Read about my vintage pie table HERE

So what do you think?!?!

Duh! Pinning!

Do you follow Sign Me Up on Facebook?!?

You should... I'm pretty awesome... and you MIGHT be lucky enough to get in on a sweet deal or a discount code...

If you follow Sign Me Up you would know that I want to have a sign in EVERY state by the end of the year.
What better way to do that than with a new map in my office?

Last week I ordered THIS map from Amazon... and patiently waited for it to arrive! It FINALLY came in on Saturday! I promptly recruited my Momma to help and glued it down to a cork board. Then asked T to help hang it!

Next I had my face an inch or two away from it while I pinned the map on all the places that I've mailed a sign to!

Ahhhh only 42 more states to go!
EXCITING!!!!

P.S. New signs coming to the shop VERY VERY soon!

I'll be rockin out at some of THESE parties!

New Office {Part 1- Paint and Flooring}

So what color board did you pick the other day?

If you answered D none of the above then....

THAT IS CORRECT!

Haha! What's my deal with movie references lately?!?!
Anyhoo.....

So while I went to Wally World to get paint and supplies my AMAZING honey cleaned out the ENTIRE room by HIMSELF!!!!! {Thanks so much babe! Saved a ton of time!}

So here it is all cleaned out...

Then we got to painting! I like to call this a chameleon color...
It's Mink Brown from Better Homes and Gardens.

In some lights it looks like milk chocolate, in another light it has a bit of mauve to it, in other lights a bit of grey. I love it!

Next up we laid new floors... I know I know... I covered up HARDWOOD FLOORS.... BUT before you get toooooooo angry hear me out... When we first found this house there was tile ALL over the floor and TWO layers of carpet in this room... liquid nailed down! Needless to say it took FOREVER to get the tile and carpet up. Then we had to rent an industrial sized sander to sand down all the GLUE that was left on the floors. Well this was the room that got left behind. There was still glue gunk in some areas and I was not about to rent another sander and go through all that again... especially since it means getting dust EVERYWHERE... So my bad... I covered wood floors...

The ghetto mans way to find the "center" of your room... String, meet light fixture.

Then we go to laying tile... I know I've made it sound fancy this whole time right?!?! It's really cheapo peel and stick... Hey we DO have a budget!

Stay tuned!!! Hopefully I'll have the BIG REVEAL soon!

Tell me what you think so far!

I'll be linking up to some of *these* fabulous parties!

Friday Eye Candy {13- Office Space}

Have you seen my stapler?

Haha LOVE that movie!!! If you haven't seen it go rent it and watch it this weekend! It's amazing!

But really... have you seen my stapler?

I don't think I can find it in this chaos!

Remember in THIS post where I said I was going to organize my office, redecorate it, make it beautiful?!?!
Well........... life got in the way and it hasn't happened, yet. {Yet being the operative word here}

Now my dining room table has become the landing ground for my SIGNS.

So this is weekend I'm going to completely re-do this room. Make it a place that's alllllllllllll miiiiiinnnnnneeeeee!

The only problem? I don't know what I want!
What color scheme do I want to go with???

So tell me what you think! What would you choose? I need advice from my peeps...
And remember I'm going to be using THIS as my desk. And I have some other vintage finds that I'll be hanging up.

Here's some offices that I LOVE!

Tell me... what would you do?!?!

The Evolution of a photo... Part 1

Now I am NO photo expert. By ANY means. I use a plain jane point and shoot camera.
 (That is currently broken... insert sad face here)
But I've been working on trying to edit my photos to make them look a little better and thought I would share the little tips that I've learned along the way...
ALL EDITS AND DIRECTIONS ARE DONE THROUGH PICNIK.

Here is the original picture that I started with. I took this a couple of months back on our Shamrock Trip.

Step 1. Erase those ugly electric wires.
Upload your picture into Picnik.
In the Create tab click on Advanced.
Select Clone and erase those wires.

Step 2.  Shed a Little Light!
In the Edit Tab Choose Exposure.
Once there click on the Advanced button to your right.
Bump up the Highlights to +15 and the Brightness +8

Step 3. Let's Add Some Effects
In the Create Tab Select Effects.
Choose Vignette.
I reduced the size to 45.

Step 4. Black and White Anyone?
In the Create Tab Select Effects.
Top of the list? Black and White. Click it.
Next I faded it 20% So that a little color would show through.

Step 5. Add Some Layers.
In the Create Tab scroll to Texture.
I don't know the name of this texture but it's on the bottom row second from the left.

Step 6. Some More Layers.
Next I added the same effect as in Step 5 but I rotated it to the right 3 times and faded it 55%.

Here's a before and after shot. I love how it turned out. Much more rustic and it kinda looks like an old post card if you ask me. Now these are the step I took to get from point B to A (Before and After- get it Before to After... Okay Carry on.) Your picture may require more or less tweaking and you can fiddle with things to make your photo look just how you want it to. I hope this helps some! And if you have any questions at all feel free to shoot me an e-mail I'll do my best to try and answer them!
