What I Wore Wednesday {12- Found in the Closet}

So you know how I told you were were going through our closets and getting rid of a bunch of junk?
Well it's AMAZING how much RANDOMNESS you can find if you look.

Case and Point:

Yup... I found my Halloween costume from like 3 or 4 years ago. G and I were June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash. I found this dress at the Buffalo Exchange in Dallas for $10 and I had the boots made.

G found a combat vest, military goggles and his rifle {not that he ever lost his rifle... trust me that boy takes it with him to the bathroom, I swear!} Kinda makes his CIA story a bit more plausable huh?
Know if I can just find out where he stashes his CIA paycheck...

The Truth About My Husband...

This guy cracks me up. ^^^

Last night we were cleaning out the closet and going through our dressers getting rid of a BUNCH of stuff...
In one of his dressers is a tiny drawer only about 2 inches tall. Let me tell you though... he sure knows how to cram junk in there.

G likes to open e-v-e-r-y  s-i-n-g-l-e piece of paper that he hasn't looked at in OVER a YEAR to make sure it's nothing important.

Welllll let's just say I'm a bit quicker at it than he is. So I would grab about 15 pieces of paper scan through them and could tell they weren't important. So I would shred them and throw them (trying to make it into the trash can and failing. So he would have to bend over and pick them up. Evil I know... You know he loves me when he puts up with this on a regular basis.)

It was one of these times, when he was picking up shredded pieces of paper that I learned about my husband. Our Convo went something like this...

G: Oh no! Oh nononononono!
Me: What?
G: What have you done?
Me: What?!?!?!
G: I can't read this now!
Me: Yea no joke, it was a bunch of random letters and numbers. So what?
G: How am I ever going to get into the Database now?!
Me: What? What database?
G: Honey, I think it's time I come clean.
Me: {sitting there with a confused bewildered look on my face}
G: I've been lying to you... I don't work for an auto parts store. I am a CIA operative. And you just tore up my pass code to get into the database. How am I ever going to explain to them that YOU got a hold of my password and TORE IT UP?
Me: {Bewildered.... and then I BUST OUT LAUGHING}

Yup this is what I live with... Hey, someone that you can still laugh this hard at {I mean with} HAS to be your best friend. HAS to be the person you are meant to spend eternity with...

I love you! GGC, My CIA Operative...

Pinterest to Life {Jewelry Tray/ Cupcake Stand}

How was y'alls 3 day weekend? I had a GREAT weekend! Saturday I crafted with mom, Sunday went to my aunts and visited with my cousins, aunt, dad, and step-mom. Monday... I vegged out in this AWESOME weather!
How ironic that this was the "last weekend of summer" and the weather took a turn for cool? I'm in love people! In LOVE with this weather!

Anywho... How about a
Project that is NOT an outfit?!?

Well Mom found THIS cute pin. And I had THIS pin.

So while Mom was out at the local thrift shops she found some really cute plates, saucers, and candle sticks.

We busted out the glass glue and got to work.

Centered the candle stick onto the bottom plate.

Then glued around the other end of the candle stick and placed the saucer on top of that.

Jewelry Holder? Cupcake holder? The possibilities are endless!

I'll be linking up HERE! Come join me!

Hair Tutorial: Beach Waves

I'm jealous. I LOVE long hair in soft beachy waves. LOVE IT!

YES Carrie Underwood.... I'm jealous of your long, golden, wavy locks.
{Not only that but you are gorgeous... and can sing like the dickens!}

Welllllll Mrs. Carrie... I know your secret!

A SOCK BUN!!!!

Mom told me about ^^^this^^^ video so I decided to try it out.

Step 1: Find a single sock and cut the toes off. Then roll it in on its self to create the donut you see above.

Step 2: Wash and dry your hair (I left my hair slightly damp). Yes I know they say that curls last longer in dirty hair, but I have REALLY oily hair that I HAVE to wash EVERY DAY. So Wash and Dry, leaving your hair slightly damp.

Step 3:  Place your hair in a HIGH ponytail. Do a loose ponytail so that you won't get a crease.
Step 4: Dampen your ponytail. In the video she uses water to dampen her hair, I used a curling mist from Avon.

Step 4: Put the sock donut around your ponytail and pull your hair through. Starting at the tip of your ponytail roll your hair around the sock all the way to your scalp to create a bun. (Watch Video to see what I mean. Kinda hard to photograph)

Step 5: Go to sleep. Wake up the next morning. Get ready, do your make-up, brush your teeth, get dressed. Regular routine. When your about ready to walk out the door. Undo the sock bun and see the beautiful curls!

Step 6: Finger comb through your hair and part.

BAM beachy waves!

WARNING! Sock Bun technique may take a couple of tries to get it down. You MAY end up looking like a Who from Whoville!

Mason Jar Holder

I'm pretty sure that Mason Jars are God's gift to homemakers.

They look vintage, and chic, and rustic, and everything I want my home to represent.
I-LOVE-MASON-JARS!

So I made a mason jar holder for my FABRIC FLOWER BOUQUET.

I simply took a piece of 1x6, cut it down to about 8" long and painted it. Then I used a pipe clamp that I got from a home improvement store (I took a jar with me to the store to find the perfect size) and screwed it into the wood. Nailed a picture hanger to the back and hung it up. Easy and Cheap. Just how I like it. {hehe}

Here's some more Mason Jar "Pinspiration"

I'll be linking up to some of these parties! Come party with me!
