New Office {Part 1- Paint and Flooring}

So what color board did you pick the other day?

If you answered D none of the above then....

Haha! What's my deal with movie references lately?!?!

So while I went to Wally World to get paint and supplies my AMAZING honey cleaned out the ENTIRE room by HIMSELF!!!!! {Thanks so much babe! Saved a ton of time!}

So here it is all cleaned out...

Then we got to painting! I like to call this a chameleon color...
It's Mink Brown from Better Homes and Gardens.

In some lights it looks like milk chocolate, in another light it has a bit of mauve to it, in other lights a bit of grey. I love it!

Next up we laid new floors... I know I know... I covered up HARDWOOD FLOORS.... BUT before you get toooooooo angry hear me out... When we first found this house there was tile ALL over the floor and TWO layers of carpet in this room... liquid nailed down! Needless to say it took FOREVER to get the tile and carpet up. Then we had to rent an industrial sized sander to sand down all the GLUE that was left on the floors. Well this was the room that got left behind. There was still glue gunk in some areas and I was not about to rent another sander and go through all that again... especially since it means getting dust EVERYWHERE... So my bad... I covered wood floors...

The ghetto mans way to find the "center" of your room... String, meet light fixture.

Then we go to laying tile... I know I've made it sound fancy this whole time right?!?! It's really cheapo peel and stick... Hey we DO have a budget!

Stay tuned!!! Hopefully I'll have the BIG REVEAL soon!

Tell me what you think so far!

I'll be linking up to some of *these* fabulous parties!

  1. I don't think it's a bad idea to cover up wood floors. I love them but they are a pain in the butt to clean! And what a good hubby to clean out the entire room.

  2. Nice job there, and kudos to the G-man for being so helpful! Cannot wait to see the finished project... Let me know what I can do to help, I have a day free this week if you need me or my power tools!

  3. Hey Brooke, it's looking great, I can't wait to see the finshed results. I remember the floors and the boys walking out of their boots when they got stuck in all that glue.... ugghhhh. Way to go G on earning brownie points!

  4. It's looking great! I have vinyl tile all over my house! It's so easy and looks great!

  5. can't wait to see the finished product! Thanks for linking up to Mad Skills Monday!

Thank you for leaving a comment! They make my day! :-)
