Hello again! Sorry I missed Friday's post! I was feeling a bit under the weather! But I'm back and ready to rock n' roll! Y'all saw my last chalkboard right? ( If not look here ) Well I am COMPLETELY obsessed with chalkboards! I could have one in every room in my house and that wouldn't be enough! So when I came across these cute silver platters at Dollar Tree I knew just what to do!
(Sorry I didn't take a "before" shot. I forgot until I was halfway done taping them off!)
So you tape them off and then paint! It took about 4 coats of paint. If you get them you'll notice that there is an etched design on the platter, DON'T worry it's really light and the paint will cover them...
So after 4 coats of paint and over night drying time they looked like this!
(I LOVE the detailing around the sides!)
Perfect chalkboard platter for my kitchen!

I LOVE chalkboard platters. Yours turned out really cute!
ReplyDeleteI've been resisting getting chalkboard paint, but this might have finally broken me.
ReplyDeleteThank you both for your comments! Alicia, you might want to hold off on buying chalkboard paint. I'm going "undercover" to see if flat black paint would work just as well. It's much cheaper! Hopefully it will work! Maybe I'll try that out tonight?!?!
ReplyDeleteyou know, maybe adding a little really fine sand to flat black would work if the black alone doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteI hope it works!
These THRIFTY platters need to come by my party and join in on all the fun...hope to see ya there:) Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
